Uzbek-Italian Scientific Conference
It has just successfully ended the first Uzbek-Italian scientific conference “Modern problems and prospects in otorhinolaryngology” held at the Tashkent Medical Academy on October 12-13.2021
The italian delegation of the Italian Society of Rhinology (SIR)-led by DesiderioPassali (former President of the IFOS) and composed by Gaetano Motta (President of the Italian Society of Rhinology), Luisa Bellussi (Honorary president of the Italian Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology), Felice Scasso (past President of the Italian Society of Rhinology), Pasquale Cassano (past President of the Italian Society of Rhinology), Maria Pia Villa (pediatric full professor in the University of Rome “La Sapienza”), Marco Piemonte (past President of the Italian ENT society) and Giovanni Motta (ENT resident, Università degli studi della Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”)– was warmly received by prof. Ulugbek Khasanov, chairman of department of Otolaryngology and Stomatology of the Tashkent Medical Academy.
The first day of the meeting, held in the conference hall of the hotel “Uzbekistan”,was composed by various lectures and presentations by the guests and focused on various important topics of otorhinolaryngology, concentrating on both medical and surgical issues.
The second day of the conference was held in the medical center “Chinor”. Various presentations regarding the problem of obstructive sleep apnea were shown by the guests followed by a wide discussion in the form of questions-answers. Also live surgery was performed with clear explanation of the surgical procedures.
In the following days the Italian delegation visited the cities of Bukhara and Samarkand. In the latter, the italian guests were received by the rector of the Samarkand University, where future perspectives and scientific plans between the two countries were discussed.
The meeting was successful and had a broad consensus in both uzbek hosts and Italian guests.
Modern Technologies of Diagnosis and Treatment in Otorhinolaryngology, March 18-19 2022
On March 18-19 2022 it was held at the Samarkand Medical State University the scientific conference “Modern Technologies of Diagnosis and Treatment in Otorhinolaryngology”. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and by the Samarkand State Medical University, in cooperation with many Institutions such as the Italian Society of Rhinology, the University of Naples “Federico II”, the Medical Association of Uzbekistan and the Russian State Social University.
The delegation of the Italian Society of Rhinology (SIR)-led by Desiderio Passali (past President of the IFOS) and composed by Gaetano Motta (past President of the Italian Society of Rhinology), Luisa Bellussi (Honorary president of the Italian Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology), Maria Pia Villa (pediatric full professor in the University of Rome “La Sapienza”), Giuseppe Massaro (ENT specialist, University of Campania “L.Vanvitelli”) and Giovanni Motta (ENT resident, Università of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”)– was warmly received by Khushvakova Nilufar Jurankulovna, Head of the Otorhinolaryngology Department n.1 of the Samarkand State Medical Institute.
Numerous were the various specialists from many parts of the world and various were the issues faced during the congress, such as pathologies of the outer, middle and inner ear, nose and paranasal sinuses issues focusing on the emerging role of monoclonal antibodies and other innovations in the field of rhinology, throat pathology, pediatric otorhinolaryngology, ENT oncology and ENT genetics.
The scientific event ended with a beautiful social dinner held in Samarkand, where the Italian delegation was greeted and awarded by the Rector of the Samarkand University, Jasur Rizayev.
The meeting was successful and had a broad consensus among all the partecipants.
