Prof. Reda Kamel

Professor Kamel is a professor of Rhinology at Cairo University, Egypt.

His main interest is Endoscopic Sinonasal Surgery, Allergy and Sleep studies.
He had his Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, USA. He published more than 20 articles in the field of Endoscopic sinionasal surgery and a book titled Anatomy of the Lateral Nasal Wall, Ostiomeatal complex and Anterior Skull Base.
He has made more than 325 presentations and participated in more than 105 FESS courses all over the world.
He introduced four new sinonasal endoscopic instruments manufactured byKarl Storz Co. and distributed worldwide. Professor Kamel is a reviewer for several Journals including the Laryngoscope, American Journal of Rhinology, Skull Base and The Annals of Otology, Rhinology & Laryngology. He is a member of many international societies including; International Rhinologic Society [IRS], American Academy of Otolaryngic Allerygy [AAOA], Collegium Oto-Rhino-Laryngologicum Amicitiae Sacrum [CORLAS], International Symposium of Infection and Allergy of the Nose [ISIAN] and European Rhinologic Society [ERS].
He has the privilage of serving as the founding president of the Pan Arab Rhinology Society [PARS] and Egyptian Rhinology Society [ERS].
Professor Kamel is now the President of the International Rhinologic Society [IRS], President elect of the International Symposium of Infection and Allergy of the Nose [ISIAN], president elect for the upcoming IRS/ISIAN Conference in Sharm Al-Sheikh, Egypt, November, 2013. Professor Kamel received many international rewards, the latest is The Arab Health Karl Storz Award for Excellence in Teaching [2006]. It was awarded to him because of his untiring contributions to the advancement of sinus endoscopy skills around the middle east.
He received also many national rewards including; the Prize of the Academy of Scientific Research [1991], the National Prize of Encouraging Scientific Research [1992], the Egyptian National Reward in Advanced Scientific Research [2006]Professor Kamel has spent much of his time travelling around the region instructing physicians on this developing technique.
